IEC 62471 sirve como guía para realizar evaluaciones de seguridad fotobiológica. Este es un estándar internacional que se utiliza durante las evaluaciones para evaluar el riesgo de daños en la piel y los ojos causados por la luz. El riesgo fotobiológico se puede dividir en 4 grupos de riesgo diferentes (grados de peligrosidad) en función del grado de daño fotobiológico causado.

> Recomendaciones
Independientemente del nivel de riesgo de la lámpara, le recomendamos que nunca mire directamente a una luz encendida y evite dirigir el haz de luz a los ojos de otra persona.
El uso de equipo de protección es obligatorio para proteger los ojos y la piel. Las gafas protectoras deben ser compatibles con la norma EN 170 y deben proteger los ojos contra los rayos de luz que llegan directamente o por los lados.
Caso especial de iluminación UV (<420nm): Protección mínima recomendada: EFFO-GLA que reduce la fatiga ocular al absorber azul y luz verde y permite al usuario observar correctamente los componentes durante el proceso de curado o inspección al absorber el 99,99 % de la emisión UV y la luz visible hasta 532 nm. El uso de equipo de protección es obligatorio para proteger los ojos y la piel.
