In 2006, the International Electrotechnical Commission published IEC 62471 “Standard for photobiological safety of lamps and lamp systems”, and LED lighting is included in the scope of this standard. IEC 62471 serves as a guideline for carrying out photobiological safety assessments. This is an international standard used during assessments to assess the risk of skin and eye damage caused by light. The photobiological risk can be divided into 4 different risk groups (degrees of danger) depending on the degree of photobiological damage caused.
On request, EFFILUX can provide a maximum risk level certificate for its LED lighting. Contact us.
Regardless of the risk level of the lamp, we recommend that you never look directly at a lit light and avoid directing the beam of a light into the eyes of another person.
